NumbersUSA Urges ‘NO’ Vote on Rule That Would Bring Healthcare Bill to House Floor

NumbersUSA is mobilizing our 920,000 members to contact their Representatives to urge defeat of the Rule to bring H.R. 3962 to the House floor. 

NumbersUSA takes no position on the non-immigration parts of the bill.  But Speaker Pelosi and the Rules Committee have broken the promises that Pres. Obama made that illegal aliens would be excluded from any part of a new federal health care plan. 

The loopholes that are being allowed in H.R. 3962 would be yet another major incentive for illegal foreign workers to break immigration laws to take jobs from American workers.

NumbersUSA will grade all Representatives on their vote on the Rule. 

Representatives voting YES can expect their decision to be viewed as an anti-American-worker and pro-illegal-immigration action during the campaigns of 2010.

BACKGROUND

Read my blog from yesterday afternoon about the battle between Pres. Obama and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.  Thus far, it appears that Pres. Obama is sticking with his promise to the American people that illegal aliens would not be part of this bill. 

But the Hispanic Caucus is insisting on loopholes for illegal aliens.

Read my blog from last night based on the Associated Press report that the chairwoman of the House Rules Committee has said she does not anticipate changing the immigration language in the bill toward backing up Pres. Obama’s promise to guarantee no illegal alien participation.

With the House leadership choosing the Hispanic Caucus’s pro-illegal loopholes over Pres. Obama’s promises, NumbersUSA has clear choice and is working to keep the bill from coming to the House floor.

The top priority at the moment is a NO vote on the Rule for the House health care bill.
