Better Immigration is Possible and Needed
Founded in 1996 solely by Roy Beck, NumbersUSA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that believes better immigration policy is possible and needed. As America’s largest single-issue advocacy group, NumbersUSA is focused exclusively on immigration reform. NumbersUSA empowers over 8 million grassroots supporters spread across every congressional district to impact immigration policy with information, tools, access, and influence.
NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation (NERF) provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration.
NERF advocates for sensible immigration policies that ensure Americans’ safety and promotes economic fairness while protecting the environment and quality of life.
NERF educates opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences.
NERF supports a balanced immigration system that welcomes the spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents, is responsive to acute refugee crises, attracts those with extraordinary ability and talents, addresses temporary labor shortages, and protects the most vulnerable.
Who we are
NumbersUSA is you, the American voter. With 8+ million voters of all political ideologies and demographics, we share the common interest of legal immigration that is credible, enforceable, and balanced which brings about U.S. population growth that enables economic fairness, opportunity, and quality of life.
What we do
NumbersUSA provides tools, resources, and access, so that your voice is heard by the Federal and State elected officials who represent you. We provide information on issues, current immigration numbers, voting record “Grade Cards”, and an constantly updated “Action Board” filled with what actions you can take.
Why it matters
Quality of Life, American Freedoms, Economic Fairness, Equitable Opportunity; all are impacted by the number of people who are allowed to live, work, and visit in the United States. Congress works for you the American People. They need to hear your voice on this future shaping issue of immigration.
Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, with offices across the street from the Capitol, NumbersUSA is the nation’s largest grassroots immigration-reduction organization with more than eight million participants in all 435 congressional districts. Members are educated and empowered to persuade public officials to support immigration policies that protect all Americans—especially the most vulnerable and including the foreign-born—from losing wages, individual freedoms, quality of life, and loss of nature due to immigration-driven population growth.
NumbersUSA embraces the pro-immigrant attitude stated in the nonpartisan U. S. Commission on Immigration which indicates that immigrants who are given permanent residency should be allowed to integrate fully into all aspects of our society while those who are not and who hold no temporary legal status should be deported. NumbersUSA opposes nativism in the law and private actions; Americans should be treated equally regardless of where they were born. Neither race, religion, gender, age or ethnicity should be factors in setting or debating immigration policies.
'No' to Immigrant Bashing
From our beginning in 1996, NumbersUSA has urged our fellow Americans who are concerned about immigration to refrain from expressing anger toward the immigrants who live among us and to be focused on the immigration policies that result in such. NumbersUSA is committed to the United States being welcoming of those who legally immigrate, to engage in civil discussion as to the policies that enable such, and to be respectful toward all individuals while working to achieve an immigration policy that contributes to the betterment of society.
NumbersUSA consists of NumbersUSA Education and Research Foundation (NERF), a 501c3, and NumbersUSA Action, a 501c4. NumbersUSA Action funding is primarily from individuals giving $10, $25 and $100 donations. NERF also enjoys a portion of its funding from foundations and family trusts with outlooks across the ideological spectrum and with keen interests in our mission statement.
NumbersUSA meets all of the Better Business Bureau standards of accountability, including independent members of a Board of Directors and independent audits. We are proud to also have earned top ratings from several other non-profit watchdog groups, such as GuideStar, Charity Navigator, Combined Federal Campaign, and Independent Charities of America.
Our History
Since its inception in 1996, NumbersUSA has been a leader in grass root activist mobilization. Although focused solely on the issue of immigration, NumbersUSA was an early adopter who harnessed the power of the Internet with the innovative “Send Fax” capability which allowed members to send a FAX to their member of congress. Since that time NumbersUSA….
Our Team
NumbersUSA has a dedicated team of leaders with various disciplines ranging from law, business, education, political science, environmental sciences, journalism, and much more. With half of the team located in the Washington D.C. area and the rest spread across the United States, NumbersUSA is constantly working to bring about better immigration policy within the states and at a federal level.
