Take Action

Why it matters

Quality of Life, American Freedoms, Economic Fairness, Equitable Opportunity; all are impacted by the number of people who are allowed to live, work, and visit in the United States. Congress works for you the American People. They need to hear your voice on this future shaping issue of immigration.

ReEnvisioned

Eight Million Participants

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, with offices across the street from the Capitol, NumbersUSA is the nation’s largest grassroots immigration-reduction organization with more than eight million participants in all 435 congressional districts. Members are educated and empowered to persuade public officials to support immigration policies that protect all Americans—especially the most vulnerable and including the foreign-born—from losing wages, individual freedoms, quality of life, and loss of nature due to immigration-driven population growth.

Pro-Immigrant

NumbersUSA embraces the pro-immigrant attitude stated in the nonpartisan U. S. Commission on Immigration which indicates that immigrants who are given permanent residency should be allowed to integrate fully into all aspects of our society while those who are not and who hold no temporary legal status should be deported. NumbersUSA opposes nativism in the law and private actions; Americans should be treated equally regardless of where they were born.  Neither race, religion, gender, age or ethnicity should be factors in setting or debating immigration policies.

'No' to Immigrant Bashing

From our beginning in 1996, NumbersUSA has urged our fellow Americans who are concerned about immigration to refrain from expressing anger toward the immigrants who live among us and to be focused on the immigration policies that result in such. NumbersUSA is committed to the United States being welcoming of those who legally immigrate, to engage in civil discussion as to the policies that enable such, and to be respectful toward all individuals while working to achieve an immigration policy that contributes to the betterment of society.

We are moderates, conservatives & liberals united for immigration numbers that reflect America’s values and serve America’s long-term interests.

Founded in 1996 by journalist and author Roy Beck, NumbersUSA fosters civil debate on the immigration recommendations of two major federal commissions.

“We decry hostility and discrimination towards immigrants as antithetical to the traditions and interests of the country.

“At the same time, we disagree with those who would label efforts to control immigration as being inherently anti-immigrant. Rather, it is both a right and a responsibility of a democratic society to manage immigration so that it serves the national interest.”

– Rep. Barbara Jordan, Chair, U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform
